Pay particular attention to the hissy background noise in the USB mic recording. Use headphones to get the full effect of the difference between these two recordings. To demonstrate a recording using setup #1 recording, I used a Samson Q2U USB microphone plugged directly into one of my my Windows 7 computer's USB ports.
